SMP’s generosity for the New York Cares coat drive was overwhelming!

Our employees donated a total of $2,796. With the Company match, SMP donated a total of $5,592 to the AACF!

Hurricane Fiona caused catastrophic damage in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, leaving families trapped by extreme flooding, without power, and with no access to clean water.

SMP of Edwardsville did an event with Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City.

In our ongoing effort to give back and support our community, SMP partnered with New York Cares for a Hunger Alleviation Project on Friday, September 9, 2022. 

On Monday, July 18th, SMP partnered with New York Cares for a Kit Packing Event held at the Long Island City office.

At SMP, we are committed to protecting the environment and are continuously working to improve our ecological footprint in the communities within which we operate.

To help maintain and beautify our community, 24 SMP employees volunteered to clean up and weed Hunter’s Point South Park.

There is one day a year in Independence, KS where lots of residents and businesses come together to do community service projects around the city. This day is called “Love Independence Day!”

SMP Independence found multiple ways to help support Ukraine relief.

Lewisville had an employee appreciation luncheon and used this opportunity to raise money for the Ukraine fund!

For the 17^th straight year, the Marketing, Engineering, QA and Data departments of the Edwardsville KS Wire and Cable division teamed up and adopted a family provided by the local school system.  

Several SMP locations came together for the holidays in order to raise money & donate toys for the Toys for Tots foundation.

Children in Mexico cannot yet receive the Covid vaccine, but with the help of the INDEX association of Maquilas de Reynosa, and SMP ENGINE MANAGEMENT, 159 children of SMP employees have been vaccinated at the US border.

On Saturday, November 6^th, SMP-Independence was proud to showcase and honor our veterans in the Veteran’s Day of Honor parade

SMP-Independence participated in the Neewollah Parade (local celebration) on October 30^th, and won the Grand Prize for best commercial float. 

Employees from our LIC Corporate headquarters volunteered with Brooklyn Grange Farm, located right on the roof of our building! 

SMP Independence hosted an onsite Blood Drive Tuesday, Oct. 19

SMP Fort Lauderdale has partnered with A Vision of Redemption, Inc. to provide school supplies to children in the Fort Lauderdale area.

On October 29, the IMSS gave our EMX location the certification of a healthy company.

On October 21, Employees at our Engine Management EMX location donated hair to children who lost their hair while undergoing cancer treatment. 

SMP Cares Edwardsville volunteers gave up their Saturday morning to help package food at their local Harvesters food network.

Edwardsville Distribution Center held a fundraising event to raise money for local no kill animal shelters

On August 26, 2021- 17 Mishawaka employees donated blood for our surrounding community of people in need.

With the help of Carter Blood Care, Lewisville Temperature Control Division in Texas had an on-site mobile blood drive.

Lewisville SMP held a donation drive for the Denton County Friends of the Family Back to School drive. 

Citizens of Mexico are still unable to receive the Covid vaccine but with the help of the Maquilas de Reynosa INDEX association, Standard Motor Products and the Johnson & Johnson Vaccine, more than 400 SMP employees have been vaccinated in Mexico at the US border.

Each year SMP Greenville raises money for March of Dimes during the months of April and May.  March of Dimes is an organization which leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies.  This year our goal was to raise $5,000, and we exceeded that goal by raising $5,365! 

Waterfront Clean-Up Volunteer Event | Long Island City, NY

On May 12th, we had 17 employees volunteer and make an amazing impact on the waterfront in LIC in partnership with Hunters Point Park Conservancy (HPPC).

Annually, the Independence Commission for Improved Housing selects homes in need of sprucing up, most often belonging to a Veteran, elderly or disabled homeowner, and furnishes the required paint and supplies.
