SMP-Independence participated in the Neewollah Parade (local celebration) on October 30th, and won the Grand Prize for best commercial float.
Danny Corn (pictured 2nd left) created the float and Shelly James (pictured left) designed the logo for our shirts. Our employees were able to purchase the shirts to raise money for our SMP Cares fund. Eighty shirts were purchased. Our float had various moving parts, as the witch and the flying monkey flew in a circle and bubbles floated up around them. The SMP hot-air balloon floated up and down. It was a crowd favorite once again! Our employees (pictured with float) walked with the float and handed out candy to the parade crowd that lined the streets of Independence. The Neewollah musical this year was The Wizard of Oz, and we all know “There is No Place Like SMP”!
