Annual House Painting Project | Independence, KS

Annually, the Independence Commission for Improved Housing selects homes in need of sprucing up, most often belonging to a Veteran, elderly or disabled homeowner, and furnishes the required paint and supplies.  Then they reach out to businesses or other organizations to see if they can provide the volunteer labor.  This was SMP’s second year to be involved in this rewarding project.  This year we happened to be assigned to the home of a former employee.  We removed and cleaned all the storm windows, painted the entire house, cleaned out flowerbeds and put in some new landscaping.  The homeowner was so appreciative of all we did and our employees were happy to help.
