"Love Independence Day" - House Painting | Independence

There is one day a year in Independence, KS where a lot of people and businesses come together to do community service projects around the city. This day is called “Love Independence Day!” This year, the SMP Cares team took on the wonderful and hardworking task of painting the house of a community member in need! A team of 22 people volunteered to paint, clean windows, and landscape the house of a woman who is low income and needs help. This project is in partnership with Community Mission for Improved Housing. CMIH is an organization in Independence that tries to help those in need by doing this type of volunteer work. Please see below for the incredible transformation this dedicated team was able to accomplish through their handiwork!
