The SMP Training Center has partnered with the Dallas Independent School District to provide a number of activities for the month of July!
The SMP Training Center has partnered with Dallas Independent School District for a variety of activities this year such as career day, “Classroom Takeover”, and hosting automotive students for field trips. One activity was to provide an externship for one of the DISD automotive instructors. During the month of July, DISD Instructor, Johnny Hererra spent time at the SMP Training Center to sharpen his skills and ensure that he remains relevant as he works with students in the classroom. During his visit he spent time with Peter McArdle to learn more about Air Conditioning systems and how to properly diagnose and repair them. He also spent time with Juan DeLeon and Joe Chavez, technicians in the Vehicle Test Center to install and analyze products on vehicles. Johnny will compile information he learned during his time with us and share it with his fellow DISD instructors. We look forward to partnering with DISD for years to come.
