SMP Lewisville worked in collaboration with the Lewisville Culture team to host a back-to-school supplies drive!

On August 1st the SMP Activities committee in collaboration with the Lewisville Culture team hosted a back-to-school supply drive to benefit SMP employees in need. Donations were collected over the course of two weeks from SMP employees in conjunction with a bit of friendly competition among departments. In the end, the I.T. department came out victorious donating an impressive amount of supplies. The donations were compiled into a SMP School Supply General Store for employees in need to fulfill their student’s supply list free of charge. This event was a great success serving over 150 students and teachers.

Words of appreciation from Mike Carney, VP Lewisville, TX as follows.

“As a member of the SMP and Temperature Control Division’s leadership team, it always fills me with pride and honor to be a part of, and witness the numerous examples of our employee’s generosity. This tremendous team effort by the entire facility is just another shining example of our team’s concern, and compassion for their fellow employees, and our community.  We were able to collect and donate key school necessities to over 50% of our fellow employees and their families. This done at a time where economic conditions have made having children prepared for school quite a challenge. While it was a fun and inspiring facility wide achievement, it would be remiss not to congratulate our I.T. team members for their outstanding efforts, and acknowledge their victory on being the top contributing department.   It is a true honor to be a part of a facility and Corporation, who continually steps forward to help at any time on countless causes, and opportunities to help others. Well done to all involved, everyone has shown once again why SMP is the best place to work in Texas. Thank you team!”
