AWOL | Independence
Every April, Independence, KS has a week-long celebration called “Love Independence.” During this week, businesses and organizations choose different projects to participate in that will help beautify and benefit the city of Independence and its residents. SMP-Independence did four total projects this year for Love Independence.
The second project we participated in helped out our local animal shelter, AWOL. A veterinarian partnered with AWOL to put on a free microchip and vaccine clinic. SMP-Independence wanted to help as well, so we gave a $500 check to the event – this helped many more pets get free microchips and shots.
