Angel Tree Project | Independence

Every year, SMP Independence “adopt” families from within the community and within SMP Independence that may not be able to provide very many gifts to their kids at Christmas.

Angel Tree Project | Independence

These families become “Angels” and the list of what they are needing/wanting is written down. The angels then go on a small Christmas tree in HR, and all the departments in SMP Independence come in and take an angel. Then the department works together to get most of the things, if not everything, on the families list. The families are kept completely anonymous. Delivery to the families is also anonymous. This year, SMP Independence adopted 15 total families; seven of those came from within the SMP Independence plant. See below to see how FULL of presents, bikes, and goodies the HR office was right before the deliveries began! The generosity of the employees at SMP Independence is unmatched.
