On Thursday, February 29th, the LIC office distributed cookies to close out Black History Month.

These delicious cookies were baked by Jazmin Gordon, an impressive young woman who is running a local small, black-owned business, while also studying at Baruch College.

“Hi, my name is Jazmin Gordon, I’m 19 years old, and proud owner of Butter ButterCream. The journey began in the summer of 2015, nestled in my Grandma’s house. With the cable cut off, I stumbled upon 'Donut Showdown', igniting my passion for baking. Inspired, I convinced my aunt to rush to Target for cheesecake ingredients, despite never having made one before. To my surprise, it turned out delectable, marking the start of my baking journey. So good, I declare myself a professional baker! From humble beginnings with cake pops and brownies, I ventured into crafting custom cakes and treats for all occasions. Balancing baking with academics, I have one more year at Baruch College and soon, I hope everyone can get a taste of ButterButterCream, where every bite’s a dream!”
